Whether you're studying law or commercial law, we offer you an exciting job with challenging and different tasks. We know that, as a law student, you are eager to apply your theoretical skills in practice. You will have the opportunity to follow cases from A to Z and actively contribute to the solutions we provide for our clients.

We ensure that your work with us is a valuable complement to your academic education. You will develop your business acumen and have the chance to enhance both your professional and personal competences, preparing you well for a future career in the legal industry.

Our law students are talented, and you will experience that we have great confidence in your capabilities. In fact, the tasks of a law student at Horten are in many ways comparable to the tasks of an assistant attorney or junior associate. You are given great independent responsibility, we listen to you, and we give you exciting challenges where you get to work with many competent assistant attorneys, attorneys and partners.

You will be able to participate in Horten Academy, be a Horten ambassador at career fairs and various events and through this acquire new knowledge and new skills.

Additionally, you will join Horten’s student group, which has lunch together across departments and meets for social events. The student group also meets several times a year with P&C and Horten’s student liaison partner to discuss current topics.

We support your studies

As a law student, you generally work 15 hours a week, though many choose to work more. However, we have great respect for the fact that your studies come first and support you in prioritising your legal education. We offer you:

  • Payment of all mandatory study books.
  • Relevant textbooks of max. DKK 1,500 for your thesis writing
  • Time off for exam preparations and thesis writing.
  • One month of thesis leave (equivalent to four weeks) with pay if you are employed with Horten as an assistant attorney after your studies.
  • Free access to Horten's library and many Danish and international online databases, legal journals, etc.
  • Free access to photocopiers and printers.
  • Printing and binding of your thesis.

Our law students may also apply for a career scholarship, which implies, among other things, paid summer school at London School of Economics (including travel and accommodation), individual coaching for the purpose of developing your professional competences and employment as an assistant attorney on graduation.

Co-study - Horten’s universe for law students

We pass on knowledge to law students at universities across the country. Horten Co-study is our universe of exam preparation videos and booklets, where our students review answers and help you prepare as effectively as possible for your exams.
