The Danish fintech company Nord.Investments A/S ("NORD") has obtained final notification from the Danish FSA that it meets the requirements for obtaining a licence as an investment firm. Horten has assisted NORD throughout the process.
NORD provides a digital pension and investing solution where investors can invest using NORD’s robot adviser. The robot adviser recommends a tailored portfolio of ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) to each investor based on the investor’s personal investment profile.
Licence as an investment firm
A licence to act as an investment firm will enable NORD to expand its existing solutions and to provide new solutions to the benefit of present and future customers. NORD will, among other things, be able to make continuous rebalancing of the customers' portfolios. This is relevant when the customer’s situation or needs change and will ensure that the customer's portfolio always matches the customer’s individual profile.
The licence will also facilitate NORD’s access to the European market as NORD may now passport its licence to other EU countries supporting NORD’s growth ambitions for the future. Until now, NORD has been licenced to provide investment advice only.
NORD's licence as an investment firm is conditional on a number of formalities which are expected to be completed during week 31, 2022. Horten has assisted NORD throughout the process.
