Horten has advised EWII and its wholly owned subsidiary, TREFOR Infrastruktur A/S, on all legal aspects of TREFOR’s acquisition of 100 % of the shares in El-Net Øst A/S from Bornholms Energi og Forsyning Holding A/S.

Bornholms Energi og Forsyning Holding A/S, which is owned by the Regional Municipality of Bornholm, is the parent company of a number of wholly owned subsidiaries that supply water, wastewater, electricity and heat to the Danish island of Bornholm.

El-Net Øst A/S owns and operates the electricity distribution grid on Bornholm.

EWII is a Danish multi-utility group based in Kolding with divisions all over the country. EWII and its subsidiaries supply water, heat and fibre network in the Triangle Region of Denmark and electricity to customers all over Denmark. Finally, EWII is an active participant in the development of technologies, solutions and systems to support the green energy transition.

The acquisition is conditional on approval by the Danish Energy Agency, which is expected during 2021.

The responsible partners of the team were Søren Hornbæk Svendsen, Thomas Francis Beckett and Frans Rossen, who were assisted by attorney Jonas Eigil Nielsen.
