The infrastructure fund iCON Infrastructure Partners V, L.P. (iCON Infrastructure) has completed the acquisition of a 95% interest in the energy company, Wind Estate A/S. Horten has assisted iCON Infrastructure with all legal aspects in connection with the transaction.
Wind Estate A/S is one of Denmark's leading energy companies in respect to production and sale of electricity from wind turbines. The company's activities include the whole value chain from project development and establishment of new wind farms, purchase of existing wind turbines and operation, supervision, service and maintenance of the company's entire wind turbine portfolio for the purpose of sale of power. The company owns more than 400 wind turbines with a total capacity above 300 MW and an annual energy production in excess of 650 Gwh.
Following the transaction, Erik Abraham will remain in place as managing director and retain a 5% shareholding.
iCON Infrastructure is a UK based infrastructure fund with focus on investments in infrastructure within water, transportation, energy generation, distribution and storage, in Europe and North America.
Under iCON Infrastructure's ownership Wind Estate A/S will continue to pursue its successful growth strategy, including its expansion in the UK market.
