Experience and expertise within Fintech

In recent years, Horten has advised a number of Danish Fintech companies and, today, Horten is one of the leading legal advisers on the Danish Fintech market. Our experienced Fintech group consists of specialists within funding, venture capital and M&A, financial regulation, IP rights, IT and tech and personal data law. We have continuous focus on meeting all potential legal needs that a Fintech company may have in the establishment and growth stage.

Fintech companies operate in or on the verge of heavily regulated areas such as payment services, investment services and financial transactions. We work determinedly to clarify the regulatory framework and obligations to which our clients are subject, and how the set-up of the company should be in this regard.

Horten has wide experience analysing new business models up against the financial regulation and has one of the leading groups within IP and IT-Tech. With our inter-disciplinary approach to Fintech, you company is in good hands.

For many years, we have had a good dialogue with the Danish FSA in specific cases, and we are happy to assist our clients with their dialogue with the authorities.

Representatives from Horten's Fintech team will be available on a regular basis for informal sparring to companies at Copenhagen Fintech Law as part of the Lab's Law Connect Programme. We are happy to contribute actively to the development of Copenhagen as a Nordic Fintech hub.

We have an experienced and competent investor network, and we have wide experience assisting new Fintech companies with their first funding round.

International network

Horten cooperates with leading law firms abroad, including in Sweden and Norway, and we are therefore able to ensure that Fintech companies will experience smooth access to legal advice once the company enters the international market.
