The Danish Defence has purchased the former ammunition factory located in Elling near Frederikshavn, where ammunition was produced until 2020.
The factory, which under the Danish Defence's previous ownership was known as Ammunitionsarsenalet, at one point employed approx. 300 employees.
The transfer includes the property, which consists of approx. 350,000 m2, including approx. 50 buildings of approx. 18,000 m2, which are specially designed for the production of ammunition.
According to the Minister of Defence, the purchase is made by the Danish Defence as part of the safeguarding of national security interests.
