Jens Grønkjær Sjølander Pihl is a certified IT lawyer with a broad skills and experience base focusing particularly on regulated industries and specializing in the interplay between technology, law and commercial aspects. Jens has an in-depth and balanced understanding of risks, standards and preferences on both supplier and customer side from his diverse work background and wide variety of projects he has advised on. Jens has worked in both the public and private sector as both external lawyer and as in-house legal counsel with major IT suppliers NNIT and KMD, including four years as head of KMD’s contract negotiation and contract management team. Jens advises on all aspects of IT law, including drafting and negotiation of all types of IT contracts, e.g. systems development and delivery contracts, hosting and service-based contracts (SaaS/ASP, PaaS, IaaS, etc.) and outsourcing contracts. Jens is especially focused on new technologies, including AI, IoT, Big Data, robots, and blockchain, and their commercial, operational and legal impact. Further, Jens specializes in cybersecurity and the interplay in relation to information and data protection regulation. As a lawyer, Jens takes a no-nonsense operational approach to legal advice based on more than 15 years of experience and in-depth understanding of how to mitigate, approach and solve legal challenges in relation to IT especially with respect to outsourcing and development of new technology. A key principle in his legal advice is to enable the client to implement and use the legal advice on a plug-and-play basis.
