Jacob Sandholt provides specialised advice on sector legislation within the field of energy and utility law. Jacob has deep knowledge of Danish law, EU law and international law - across the value chain. He is particularly strong on regulatory matters, complex projects and transactions as well as the drafting and negotiation of sector-specific agreements, where clients value his ability to combine industry knowledge with practical, commercially focused advice.
With more than 15 years of experience as a legal and strategic adviser in both private practice and the energy sector, Jacob brings first-hand industry insight from previous senior roles at the Danish energy giants Energinet and Ørsted. This unique background enables him to guide clients seamlessly through matters involving public authorities, such as permit applications and handling of complaints, as well as advising on wind, solar, biogas/biomethane, BESS, PtX and CCS/CCUS projects and transactions. Further, his expertise includes assisting e.g. leading corporates and traders on supply and offtake agreements, including power purchase agreements, biomethane agreements, water, wastewater and heating supply agreement.
