Horten is legal adviser to DSB Ejendomsudvikling on the 40,000 sqm mediatech city.

DSB Ejendomsudvikling A/S and AP Ejendomme, subsidiary of AP Pension, each own 50 per cent of the future mediatech city. Media City Odense was established by TV2 Danmark, TV2 Fyn, JFM and SDU in 2021 with the present 23 members, which are companies within telecommunication and media production.

The CEO of DSB Ejendomsudvikling, Søren Bech-Heede, states that they can now continue working on their many plans for the area, and that the green transition also plays a role:

"It has been important for us that our partner is a long-term investor, and AP Ejendomme is that. At the same time, MCO should be as sustainable as possible, and AP Ejendomme shows with its projects that the company's approach to the green transition work is aligned with our own ambitions.”

The agreement was signed following a tender procedure, and AP Ejendomme’s CEO Peter Olsson states in the press release that AP Ejendomme is excited to be co-investor.

"It is a visionary project that matches our strategy for office properties. At the same time, the project attracts a lot of interest among the potential lessees. Therefore, it has not been difficult to see ourselves as part of the project, and we look forward to continuing our work on this.

Large media companies and small players among future lessees

Companies accommodating up to 500 employees are expected to be lessees. Both large media companies with their own headquarters and office hotels with small players from the media industry will presumably have a workplace in the mediatech city, and they will all be able to share e.g., meeting centres, canteen and café.

Media City Odense, which is being designed by C.F. Møller Architects, is to be built next to Kvægtorvet with TV2 Danmark’s headquarters as neighbour.

Horten advises DSB Ejendomsudvikling in connection with the project.
