Poul Hvilsted provides legal, strategic and commercial advice to Danish and international public and private companies on regulatory and commercial issues.

The public advice is especially concentrated on environmental, planning and construction law combined with general administrative and municipal regulation.

In harmony with the above, Poul's advice on commercial and contract law has had special focus on regulatory areas and concessionary companies, including life and unemployment insurance and the defence and security industry.

Poul’s unique expertise concerning negotiation of contracts concerning supply of equipment for military and security purposes and the Danish and international regulation of military equipment and dual-purpose products is based on a deep insight into the rules for the industry, export control and industrial cooperation (off-set).

His wide experience is also included in connection with advice on compliance, both specifically and generally.

In his career, Poul started out as a litigation lawyer. He is an experienced advocate and has conducted several cases before the Danish courts, including a substantial number of high-profile and leading cases. He has also been involved in a number of international arbitration and legal proceedings in for instance the USA, Great Britain and Thailand.

Poul is a skilled arbitrator and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators which is an international centre of excellence for the practice and profession of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
