Marie Løvbjerg is specialised within competition law and state aid. She advises on all aspects of competition law and state aid and the procedures before the Danish competition authorities, the European Commission and the courts. Marie has special expertise within competition law in relation to trade organisations, industry, retail and FMCG, and her advice covers infringements, compliance procedures, compensation in connection with competition cases, training and general legal assessments. Marie also advises on the competition law aspects of distribution contracts and online sale. She also has wide experience in handling cases concerning mergers before the Danish competition authorities and the European Commission. Within state aid, Marie has wide experience in advising both municipalities and public and private businesses. Marie assists with ensuring that the aid is legal, including how to treat state aid and when to obtain an exemption, e.g. under the vertical block exemption regulation. She also has experience advising on state aid within sports and culture, aviation and research and innovation. Marie also has experience advising on violation of Danish and EU competition law, mergers and state aid from her employment with the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority. She was also attached to the Authority’s cartel team. Consequently, she has in-depth insight as to how specific cases and political proposals are considered by the competition authorities. Furthermore, Marie has arranged and carried out dawn raids. Marie holds course concerning competition law and state aid for JUC and a number of trade organisations.
