Birgitte Toxværd has advised on data protection law for more than 15 years and is one of the country’s most experienced advisors within this area.

Birgitte Toxværd advises on all aspects of data protection, both individual processing and major compliance projects where she assists with clarifying the use of personal data, analyses how the data may be used and plans the practical implementation of the required measures together with the client.

Birgitte has wide experience advising both public authorities and the private sector and has special expertise within the financial sector (banks, insurance companies and management companies), the media business (production companies and broadcasters) and pharmaceutical companies - businesses that are all in the interface between data protection legislation and comprehensive sectoral legislation.

Birgitte advises on privacy policies and cookie texts, transfers to third countries, use of pictures in social media, security breaches, risk analyses, conclusion of processor agreements and clarification of the role as controller and processor, planning of legal opinions and review of data processing procedures, both before and after the transfer of a business.

Birgitte carries out mock inspections to clarify whether the businesses or the public authorities are prepared for a real inspection by the Danish Data Protection Agency.
Birgitte also has the required technical understanding which she uses when making practical solutions, e.g. internal documentation of compliance and risk and impact assessments, etc.
