By coming a member of FAD, Horten strengthens its position as advisor on matters pertaining to defence and security industries.

From 2015, Horten became a member of the Danish Defence and Security Industries in Denmark ("FAD").

FAD is a trade association under the Confederation of Danish Industry and it is the overall association of defence and security industries in Denmark. FAD provides the setting for the industry's professional and commercial interests and contributes to the promotion of the Danish industry's position in this internationalised market.
In addition to being an industrial policy platform and spokesbody for the entire industry, FAD is seated on official Danish and European boards and committees as well as within NATO. For more information, see

Through its membership of FAD, Horten will strengthen its position as advisor on matters pertaining to defence and security industries. Horten is especially qualified for advising on this area which is characterised by a comprehensive and complicated regulation both nationally and internationally. It is decisive to Danish as well as transnational companies to navigate safely through the regulatory waters in order to be able to establish a long-term and reliable business and to be ready for exploiting the commercial possibilities.

Horten can provide advice on general and specific regulatory issues, the conclusion and terms of contracts, participation in national and international procurement procedures, establishment and execution of industrial cooperations, etc. In addition, Horten can provide unique advice in connection with compliance and legal risk management.

As something completely new, FAD will in cooperation with Horten offer its members a couple of hours of free legal sparring in order to clarify e.g. legal questions or qualify a legal position of a subsequent procedure. This offer is available on FAD’s website.

Horten will still be an active and powerful member of CenSec which is a network organisation for Danish and international businesses acting on the market for defence and security industries.
