The prestigious FIDE congress will take place at the Tivoli Congress Center in Copenhagen on 28-31 May 2014 where lawyers, judges and officials from the EU institutions will meet for four days for presentations and debates on the development of EU law.

FIDE is an abbreviation of "Fédération Internationale pour le Droit Européen", uniting a total of 29 national associations for European law from almost all EU member states. FIDE focuses on the development of legislation in the European Union and the interaction between EU and national law.

Every second year, FIDE holds a large congress for the members of the national associations. This year the congress is held in Copenhagen and is arranged by the Danish Association for European Law in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Copenhagen.

"The congress is is a unique opportunity to learn about and influence the development of EU law and to exchange ideas and visions with colleagues from all professions of the legal world.", says Andreas Christensen, attorney and partner at Horten Law Firm and member of the board of the Danish Association for European Law.
