Niclas Holst Sonne heads Horten’s tax team. He advises on taxes and duties in a wide sense and is specialised within M&A tax, establishment of incentive schemes, structuring of funds, VAT on purchase and sale of real estate, reorganisation and ownership transfers, litigation concerning taxes and duties, restructuring, relocation of employees and general corporate tax.
For a number of years, Niclas has advised Danish and international clients, including pension and property funds, on tax in connection with purchase and sale of property portfolios in Denmark and the other Nordic countries. He has also advised on tax and VAT in connection with the structuring of capital funds, including the setting up of a Danish-based capital fund established at the end of 2012 with a capital commitment from Dansk Vækstkapital.
Niclas has wide experience in the establishment and implementation of incentive schemes in listed companies, companies owned by capital funds and privately owned companies. He is also an experienced litigator, having conducted legal proceedings in several cases regarding taxes and VAT before the administrative authorities and the courts.
Niclas is a lecturer and tutor at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS). He is the co-author of Ejendomsmæglerhåndbogen (handbook for real estate agents) and has authored or co-authored a number of articles on tax in e.g. the International Tax Review, Skat Udland, Revision & Regnskabsvæsen, Aktionærbladet, Ugeskrift for Skatteret and Magasinet for Dansk Biotek.
