Near shore wind turbines and Kriegers Flak 

26 May 2015 was the date of expiry of the deadline for submission of applications for prequalification to participate in the tendering process for a concession agreement concerning wind farms in Danish near shores areas. The Danish Energy Agency will now decide which potential tenderers will be invited to participate in the tendering process.

When the prequalified tenderers have been selected, the next phase of the tendering process will start. The participants will be able to ask questions to the Energy Agency on the content of the concession agreement until 4 October 2015. Thereafter, the participants must submit their preliminary tenders no later than 20 October 2015. A new question phase will run from 30 October 2015 until 4 April 2016, which is the deadline for submitting a final tender for the concession agreement (see: Tender specifications, Version 1.0 of 4 May 2015 (Danish)).

On 6 May 2015, the tendering process for the wind farm Kriegers Flak (600 MW) in the Baltic was launched with a prequalification round running until 1 October 2015.

The Energy Agency has published the qualification criteria for obtaining prequalification to participate in the tendering process. They include a requirement for an annual turnover of minimum DKK 15 billion for the past three years. (See: Contract notice, Kriegers Flak)

  • The Danish state invites tenders for a total of 350 MW wind turbines in six near shore areas.
  • The six areas are: Vesterhav Nord, Vesterhav Syd, Sæby, Sejerø Bugt, Smålandsfarvandet and Bornholm

  • Kriegers Flak Kriegers Flak is expected to include approx. 200 giant wind turbines
  • With its 600 MW, Kriegers Flak has the potential of supplying energy to 500,000 homes.
  • Kriegers Flak will thereby become Denmark's largest offshore wind farm upon completion in 2021.
