Horten's partner group strengthened with internal and external forces

With effect from 1 July 2011, attorneys Line Markert and Heidi Steen Jensenhave been appointed junior partners, and attorney Nicolai Dyhr has been appointed partner. In addition, attorney Alex Puggaard will join Horten's partner group as junior partner on 15 July 2011. With the four new partners, Horten is strengthening its partner group within reorganisation and insolvency, environmental law, energy and supply law as well as intellectual property law and marketing law.

Nicolai Dyhr, partner - reorganisation and insolvency

Nicolai Dyhr is an experienced attorney within reorganisation and insolvency. He joined Horten's reorganisation and insolvency team as junior partner in June 2009 and has since then contributed substantially to strengthening Horten's position in the area. Nicolai Dyhr mainly assists financial lending institutions in connection with recovery and protection of receivables and making arrangements with creditors. He has successfully performed a large number of reorganisations of companies in distress and has many years' experience as supervisor and trustee. In addition, Nicolai Dyhr is an experienced litigator.

Nicolai Dyhr was admitted to practise law in 2004 and obtained a right of audience before the Danish High Courts in 2004 and before the Supreme Court in 2009. He teaches insolvency law and reconstruction at the University of Copenhagen and the Copenhagen Business School and often gives lectures and holds courses within his areas of practice.

Line Markert, junior partner – energy and supply law

Line Markert is specialised within the area of energy and supply and municipality law. For a number of years, she has been one of the driving force of Horten's energy and supply team – particularly in connection with the liberalisation of the supply sector. She has special expertise in public regulation in the energy area and within the organisation and reorganisation of energy companies and utilities. In addition, Line Markert has wide experience in public law and PPP/PPC.

Line Markert was admitted to practise law in 2006 and obtained a right of audience before the High Court in 2008. She has authored a large number of articles on energy and supply law and is a frequent lecturer at courses and seminars.

Heidi Steen Jensen, junior partner – intellectual property law and marketing law

Heidi Steen Jensen is part of Horten's IP and technology team with her own area of specialisation in the interface between intellectual property law, IT law and marketing law. She has special experience in Internet-related areas and is among the leading attorneys in Denmark within online marketing, trademark use on the Internet and in social media. Heidi Steen Jensen is an experienced litigator and has also conducted a range of cases before the Consumer Ombudsman and the Danish Domain Complaints Board.

Heidi Steen Jensen was admitted to practise law in 2005 and obtained a right of audience before the Danish High Courts in 2008. She is a certified IT attorney, board member of the Association of Danish IT Attorneys and member of the INTA Internet Committee.

Alex Puggaard, junior partner – environmental law

Alex Puggaard has within a very few years raise his profile within environmental law and is widely recognised in the area. Alex Puggaard advises both companies and public authorities on issues relating to environmental and administrative law and has conducted a large number of cases before both district courts and the high courts. He is an experienced environmental lawyer from the law firm Poul Schmith, which is Legal Adviser to the Danish Government, and Lind Cadovius. Most recently, he has served as a deputy High Court judge with the Danish Eastern High Court. Alex Puggaard is also an experienced lecturer and co-author of a number of books on environmental law in cooperation with Professor Karsten Revsbech.

Alex Puggaard was admitted to practise law in 2006 and obtained a right of audience before the High Courts in 2007. From 2006-2010, he was chairman of the association Danish Environmental Lawyers. Alex Puggaard will join Horten as junior partner in the public law team in which he will be part of the environmental law team.
